A Little About Us
Hi, I'm Gregory J. Fowles, and I'm the eye behind the lens at Warlock Photography.
I was born in Maine, though my story begins with a collection of encyclopedias that my mother brought home with us from Texas. I found some semblance of solace in those books. The pictures of faraway places, intricate details, and even imaginary dinosaurs. ( The Dinosaur one was a birthday gift to me and it become "show and tell material for all of 3rd and 4th grade. ) These books were so vivid and captivating that they ignited a fire in my mind. They taught me to see the world not just as it is, but as a place filled with endless wonder and beauty.
That early spark was fanned by my father, who handed me my first Kodak film camera one day, on a school fieldtrip to the beach. (I learned the hard way about not opening the camera in broad daylight!). Years later I took a deep dive into the art form. In high school, photography became my passion. My mentor, Mr. Martin, encouraged me to go to college for it, and I went on to study Media Arts, Animation, and Psychology in San Francisco.
After college, life took an unexpected turn. I worked at Staples, on and off, before getting engaged; I joined the Army not too long after that. ( we've been married 6 years now. ) The military complex is a highly structured environment, so naturally I found myself adrift, and trying to regain my footing in "normal" life when I returned home; the joy of photography was put on hold, but it never truly left... Recently, former coworker Mr. Mckinney, sold me a Canon DSLR. It now accompanies my Nikon wherever I may venture. With just one kind gesture, the magic had finally been rekindled.
My work today is a blend of that lifelong journey. The name "Warlock Photography" is a nod to a fun part of my past, a bit of a quirky moniker for a creator who values genuine connection and understanding. I've always found solace in the quiet solitude of nature, preferring its endless beauty to the complexities of human interaction. This is the essence I strive to capture in every shot.
My philosophy is simple: you can run a business with integrity and heart. That’s why I take every photograph, do every edit, and personally prepare every product—from the initial photo session to the final postcard. I value open communication and want you to feel comfortable, whether you're in front of my lens or holding one of my artisan postcards in your hands. I'm also committed to making my art accessible, which is why I offer flexible "buy now, pay later" options.
Thank you for being here. I hope my work brings a little piece of nature’s tranquility into your life.
